Steven Virgil Coleman, age 65, of Clayton, Delaware passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and prayers of family and friends on Thursday, June 25, 2020 following a long and valiant battle with cancer.
Steven was born in 1955 and following his graduation from Christiana High School in 1973, enlisted with the United States Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Corporal. He dutifully served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1980. During his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Expert Rifle Badge.
Steven carried the military values of honor and duty throughout his life. Upon returning to civilian life, he spent over 30 years serving his community as a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service. Those lucky enough to be on his route knew him well and when he retired, many of them came out to celebrate with him.
